The
league is supervised under the expertise of the Vice President of Indian Board
Mr. Rajeev Shukla. He is working as the commissioner and Chairman of Indian
Premier League. 2013 is the year of its sixth edition in which, nine teams will
be competing with each other to get the title of Champions of IPL. The league
is mutual presentation of BCCI and Indian Sports League, giving the
opportunities for domestic players to show their talent.
Indian Premier League for 2013 is also known as IPL
6 or IPL 2013. The first match of IPL is scheduled on 3rd April
and last match will be played on 26th May 2013. The event is
sponsored by Pepsi Company LTD. for the first time. They have replaced DLF
Limited from this edition.
The previous sponsors were not so interested to
continue their relationship with IPL due to which, they did not renewed their
contract of 250 Crores for the last five
years. They have done this because now, they have entered into the real estate
business and has therefore, ignored ratings and popularity provided by IPL on
national television. Pepsi Company Limited has agreed to make a contract with
IPL for 396.8 Crores for next five seasons
that will expire after the organization of 2017 edition.
Bad
news for Deccan residents that the officials have eliminated Deccan Chargers
from IPL 6 due to the fact that, their owner was unable to save his players and
team though, he had consulted with High Court and Supreme Court. After their
elimination, Indian Board launched free invitations to gather the concentration
of IPL enthusiasts that they can come, bid and take part in sixth season of
IPL.
After seeing this invitation, Sun television
approached IPL management and introduced themselves to be the team that will
replace Deccan Charges. October 25 2012 is the date on which, Sun TV Network
was officially introduced as the new team to participate in IPL. They bid for
worth 85.05 Crores that will be paid by them
each year. They have named team as Sunrisers Hyderabad.
IPL
have lots of franchises all over the country that were revealed on January 24,
2008. They have decided $400 Million Dollars as the amount available for
auction. Sun TV Network has now got the rights of Hyderabad’s franchise after
the termination of Kochi and Deccan Charges.
Normally,
each franchise has got five key methods though which they can choose players
for their team. In every auction, they can bid upon uncapped players,
replacements, domestic players and also via trading. In case of trading, they
must have to know whether the player is satisfied with your selection or not.
If he agree, then they will have to pay price according to the difference
between previous contract’s amount and the new one. If they new contract have
greater amount as compared to last contract, they certain part of amount is
also paid to the previous franchise.
The
owners are required to select their team according to the following
requirements.
§ They must have to select 16 players for the
squad along with a coach and physiotherapist.
§ Maximum 11 foreign players can be selected of
which, four must have to step into the ground.
§ 14 Indian players are given place in the team.
